You can find your auto policy information and coverages when you log into your account. Read the guide on how to understand your policy.
* Please note that numerous features described on this page pertain to auto policies written by the standard Allstate Fire and Casualty Insurance Company (AFCIC). If your auto policy is by the non-standard Allstate County Mutual (ACM), please contact us to qualify you for the AFCIC policy. Your policy company is listed on your insurance ID card and on page 1 of your policy declarations page.*
Before your Allstate auto insurance renewal date, turn on:
At anytime, you can add a multi-policy discount by carrying your property (homeowners or renters) policy with Allstate.
You can soften the impact of having drivers under 25 years old on a policy as follows:
The traditional auto policy includes Drivewise cashback within your Allstate app. To enable this feature,
You’ll earn a one-time 10% cash reward shortly after it records a drive of at least 1 mile. The trips tracked are used to calculate your cash-back, which can be up to 30% cash-reward every 6 months based on good driving habits by all drivers. You can delete tracked trips that were not driven by you. Check the trips from time-to-time to increase your chances of higher cash rewards.
Our phones are already tracking us, but for those who prefer not to have their driving tracked, I still recommend your younger drivers turn on Drivewise and review the trips to build good driving habits. You can also disable the feature anytime by removing any of the needed Allstate app permissions.
If you need assistance setting up Drivewise, call the support line at 877-431-7670.
Milewise pay-per-mile option is an alternative to the traditional auto policy, and can save 30-50% for drivers who log less than 8,000 miles a year on at least one vehicle. Let us know your expected annual mileage and we'll provide you a quote, sometimes with better coverage, to protect you and your vehicle for less than what you currently pay.
Do you have a car that you do not expect to drive for at least 30 days? For example, are you traveling, is your car inoperable or in storage? Contact us to suspend coverage on such vehicles. This is a way to pause insurance. You'll be required to maintain comprehensive coverage to provide protection if the car is stolen or suffers hail damage or windshield/glass breakage. If you have a loan, the lender will likely require collision coverage. Vehicles should not be driven on the road with suspended coverage as Texas laws require liability insurance on the road. Remember to call us at least a day before you need to unsuspend coverage.
Accidents are expensive for 3-5 years, so add the Gold protection plan to your auto policy, or switch to the Platinum plan if you have already used up your accident forgiveness or have young drivers. Gold has forgiveness for 1 accident which protects you from a premium increase in the event of a future at-fault accident (multiple accidents are forgiven with Platinum). Specifically, you might see a Premier Plus discount for being continuously insured and accident-free for 3 years. Accident forgiveness maintains this discount plus avoids an accident surcharge in the event of an accident. Without accident forgiveness, the loss of discount and accident surcharge stay on for 3 years and take another 2 years to build back the full Premier Plus 3 discount.
For every year without an at-fault accident, you earn $100 annual deductible rewards up to $500. If you already have $500 in deductible rewards, consider increasing your Collision coverage to $1,000 to lower your premium and pay $500 deductible in the event of an accident.
Think of gap insurance and a newer car! Depending on the age of your vehicle, you can have this coverage for less than $1 a month. If your vehicle is 15 years old or newer and totaled in a covered accident, Allstate will replace it with a newer, lower mileage vehicle and cover any gaps in your lease or loan. Plus, you’ll get expanded coverage for repairs if your vehicle is damaged, but not totaled.
An estimated 1 out of every 5 drivers in Texas is uninsured, giving us higher than 20% if we consider drivers underinsured based on the incident. I recommend you add coverage to protect you, your family, and friends who ride in your car from injury and property damage caused by a hit-and-run or an uninsured/underinsured motorist (UM/UIM). A fixed $250 deductible applies for damage to your car, e.g. if you find your car has been damaged in a parking lot and the perpetrator is nowhere to be found. You do not have to use your higher collision deductible. Yes, you might have health insurance to cover your medical costs. Do you run the occasional/neighborhood car pool? Your UM/UIM coverage also protects those riding in your vehicle who might not have health insurance. You can also recover lost wages and high healthcare deductibles with UM/UIM bodily injury coverage.
Roadside assistance is an affordable option that provides reimbursement for up to $120 for emergency roadside services.
You might need transportation reimbursement in the event that your car is being fixed by insurance due to a covered loss. It starts at about $5 per month for each covered vehicle, and provides a daily reimbursement for a rental car, ride-sharing such as Uber / Lyft, public transportation, etc.
If you are making payments on a car loan or lease, the finance company will require you carry comprehensive and collision coverage. Common uses of comprehensive coverage are glass/windshield repair or replacement, hitting a deer, theft, and hail damage!!! You might find that with Comprehensive coverage, a $250 deductible is cost-effective over a $500 deductible for several years. Collision coverage pays for your car to be repaired when you cause an accident, or if you do not have uninsured motorist coverage. You will be responsible for the collision deductible amount. We can help you make informed decisions on your deductibles!
Allstate gets a report of drivers who share your address on their drivers license. The assumption is that these drivers have access to your vehicles. Having unwanted drivers can have a negative impact on your policy rates. Allstate would have sent you a letter at least a month before adding the driver to your policy. If there is any listed driver that you do not recognize or wish to exclude from your policy, please contact us immediately with the following information:
Driver’s license has been surrendered
Driver is in the military
Driver is deceased
